Usage analytics

On cooktablestakes.com, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic traffic and performance reports, including page views, referring sites, device and browser types, and countries. Cloudflare states that this service uses no cookies, local storage, or fingerprinting. Reports cover up to six months. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

When usage measurement is enabled, the planner also sends aggregate counts for explicit actions such as starting a first plan, confirming a new week, regenerating current meals, adding a recipe to a plan, saving a favorite, sharing or exporting a list, and returning after a week. These events contain only a fixed action name and count; they do not include recipes, plan contents, URLs, form data, or a visitor identifier. A small date marker stays in your browser to recognize a weekly return and is never sent to us. Analytics does not load when your browser signals Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

We also count full page loads from the United States by approximate state, using Cloudflare’s IP-based location estimate. The location report is separate from planner actions. We do not collect city information or store IP addresses, coordinates, ZIP codes, page addresses, or visitor identifiers in this dataset or ask for your device’s location. Estimates can be inaccurate. Cloudflare acts as our infrastructure processor, processes the network address to derive the estimate, and retains these Analytics Engine records for three months. Reports count page loads, not distinct people. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Your analytics choice is saved in this browser until you clear site data. Turning analytics off leaves your saved meals intact.

This choice is stored only in this browser and does not affect saved meal plans.

Meal plans

When you confirm a meal plan or add a recipe to your week, saving in this browser is on by default. We use your browser’s local storage to remember the plan’s dates, dinner nights, quicker-weeknight preference, selected recipes, custom meal names, grocery items, cooking notes, and shopping selections. No visitor account is required. Your saved plans are not sent to our servers or included in usage events.

Apple Reminders export passes selected grocery items to your installed Apple Shortcut when you choose Add to Apple Reminders. It adds those items to the list you chose during Shortcut setup. For long lists, you can download the items and share the file to the same Shortcut. Members of a shared list can see them. Table Stakes does not access your Apple account or reminder lists, and later plan changes do not sync to Reminders.

Your browser can keep multiple recent and upcoming plans. Choose which one to view in My week; shopping choices belong to that plan. When you use the site, meals more than seven local calendar days before today are removed, including their custom details and shopping choices. Empty plans are removed too. Cleanup runs in your browser when the site is used, not while it is closed. Your saving preference is kept. Plans do not automatically sync to other browsers or devices, and anyone using the same browser profile can view them. Private browsing or storage restrictions may prevent saving; the planner will tell you when it cannot save.

In My week, “Clear saved plan” removes the selected plan’s saved copy while keeping the open plan available. Other saved plans stay. Clearing preserves your saving preference; if remembering is on, the next edit saves again. Turning remembering off in “Edit week” removes all saved meal plans and keeps only that preference; plans remain available in the current tab until it closes or reloads. Clearing all site data also resets the preference.

Plan a week creates a temporary full-page preview. Your saved plans stay unchanged until you confirm. Canceling or reloading discards the preview. Confirmation adds a plan, or fills open nights in a plan with the same start date, while preserving existing meals unless you explicitly change them in the preview. Preview edits remain in the open tab until confirmation; recipe-review links open in another tab. Plan choices, dates, custom names, and previews are not placed in page URLs or titles and are not sent to analytics.

Archived recipes are loaded from the current cookbook when you return, so recipe updates can change their instructions and shopping amounts. Downloaded files remain wherever you save them. Using email or calendar exports shares the content you choose with those services.

Recipe favorites

Choosing a card’s star or Save to favorites stores only that recipe’s archive ID in this browser. Favorites stay until you remove them on recipe cards or recipe pages, choose Clear favorites in the recipe library, or clear site data. They are independent of meal plans and do not expire with your week. Your favorite recipe IDs are not sent to our servers or analytics and do not sync across browsers or devices. When usage measurement is enabled, we may count a successful favorite-save action without the recipe ID or any favorite-list contents. Anyone using this browser profile can see them. If browser saving fails, changes may last only in the open tab.
