Bakery-Style Chocolate-Chip Cookies
Chocolate-chip cookies with crisp edges and chewy centers.
Ingredients
- 168 g unsalted butter, softened
- 266 g light brown sugar
- 78 g light corn syrup
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 270 g all-purpose flour
- 340 g semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment.
- Beat butter, sugar, and syrup until fluffy. Mix in vanilla, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and egg. Stir in flour, then chocolate.
- Scoop rounded tablespoon portions, leaving 2 inches between them.
- Bake 10–12 minutes per batch, until the edges brown lightly but centers remain soft. Leave on the sheet 5 minutes, then move to a rack.
